The given pie charts illustrate the information about energy consumption in Australian households and greenhouse gas emission which is caused by energy use. The pie charts is partitioned into 6 sections in order to show 6 different sectors of energy use and their contribution of each of these sectors to greenhouse effects.
From the first pie chart, it is obvious that the vast majority of energy is consumed for heating at about 42%. While energy use for water heating is 30%, only 28% of the pie is allotted to energy consumption of refrigeration, cooling, lighting, and other appliances at 7%, 2%, 4% and 15% respectively.
While talking about greenhouse gas emissions in Australian households, we can say that heating and refrigeration contain items of approximately equal size at 15% and 14% respectively. Despite this, water heating has a slight majority in greenhouse effects at 32%. Similarly, gas emissions for other appliances is just near to water heating at about 28%. Contribution of lighting to greenhouse effects is 8% while cooling makes up an insignificant part at about 2%.
