Essay topics:

The first chart below shows how energy is used in an average Australian household. The second chart shows the greenhouse gas emissions which result from this energy use.

The first pie chart illustrates the percentage of energy being used in each Australian household. The second pie graph demonstrates the greenhouse gas discharges caused by this energy consumption.

Overall, the percentage of energy used for heating is the highest, while water heating is the second highest group which consumes the energy. As can be seen, water heating is also the top reason for the greenhouse gas emissions in Australian households.

Firstly, the proportion of the energy consumption for heating is the highest with 42%. It is readily apparent that the water heating accounts for 30%, which is higher than a half of the consumption of energy of other appliances. Moreover, the energy expenditure of refrigerator, lighting, and cooling are 7%, 4%, and 2% respectively.

Secondly, the greatest percentage of greenhouse gas emissions released from water heating make up 32%. In addition, other appliances caused 28% of the greenhouse gas, which is double higher than the emissions released from refrigeration. The proportion of greenhouse gas being outpoured from heating, lighting, and cooling range from 3% to 15%.
