The first chart below shows how energy is used in an average Australian household. The second chart shows the greenhouse gas emissions which result from this energy use.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The two pie charts illustrate the amount of energy used for a range of functions in an Australian household and the emissions released from those uses.
In general, Australians use most of their energy for heating and water heating, while the quantities of greenhouse gas are exhausted, attributed to nearly half of the total amount of gas emission.
The most amount of energy used, heating accounts for 42%. Water heating, which ranks lower than the previous figure but still higher than the remaining sections, takes up one-half of the percentage of energy consumption. Sequentially, the energy consumption rates of refrigeration, lightning and cooling are respectively low, with 7%, 4% and 2%. Eventually, the last figure, other appliances, is estimated with 15% of energy used.
Energy consumption for water heating is to blame for 32% of emissions, which is the leading greenhouse gas. Other appliances are the second greenhouse gas source, with 28% of emissions, while heating and refrigeration are recorded to emit 15% and 14% of emissions respectively. Cooling only contributes 3% of the greenhouse gas emissions in respect with its level of used energy.
