The line chart compares the emission of nitrogen oxide by 4 different types of automobiles with the speed. The emission is measured in grams per kilometer (g/km), and the speed is given in kilometers per hour (kph).
Overall, the production of nitrogen oxide is markedly higher in heavy vehicles. Noticeably, buses increase the emission at higher speeds, whereas the emission of cars does not alter with the speed.
In terms of heavy vehicles, buses witness the highest emission. At the speed of 10 kph, they emit 40g/km; however, the amount of gas production drops steadily to around 25g/km at 70 kph speed. Afterward, this amount rises dramatically to reach approximately 42g/km at the speed of 130kph. The emission of lorries is fairly lower than buses, with about 33 g/km at 10 kph speed and drops gradually to nearly 22 g/km at the velocity of 90 kph, after which the gas production rises steadily to nearly 25 g/km at the highest speed.
In contrast, personal cars have lower emissions. Petrol cars emit nitrogen oxide at a rate of just above 10 g/km and remain more or less the same with the speed. Similarly, diesel cars, which have the lowest emission, remain steadily at a 5 g/km emission rate with the speed.
