The line chart illustrate fuel use in USA from 1980 and an estimate upto 2030.
Overal, petrol and oil is the popular form of energy used and it is projected to continue increasing until 2030. Coal and natural gas was averagely used at the same rate interchangeably, until 2020 were it is estimated that coal will be highly used than natural gas. Three power sources namely, nuclear, solar or wind and hydropower are marginally used and will continue steadily into 2030 as forecasted.
It is noticeable that, petrol and oil is the major source of fuel, at 35 quadrillion units in 1980. The rate was intermittently rising and falling steadily upto 1995, and increased dramatically untill 2015. It is projected to be the major source of fuel by 2030, at 50 quadrillion.
Furthermore, consumption of coal and natural gas was at average, 15 and 20 quadrillion units respectively. The increasing and decreasing rate of these fuel sources was interchangeable until 2015. Coal became popular compared to gas at approximately 28 quadrillion units in 2030 as estimated. Gas will have a usage rate of about 25 quadrillion units as it remain constant from 2015 to 2030.
In addition, nuclear, solar or wind and hydropower use remain marginalised. Beginning 1980, they all had an equal consumption rate of about 4 quadrillion units until 1985. The mostly used fuel among the three was nuclear, it will continued to fluctuate gradually to about 5 quadrillion by 2030, as forecasted. Further, solar or wind and hydropower rose interchangeably upto 2005, when solar or wind was averagely used and will be used at the same rate in 2030. Hydropower will remain constant until 2030, at below 5 quadrillion units as projected
