The graph below gives information from a 2008 report about consumption of energy in the USA since 1980 with projections until 2030.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant. Write at least 150 words.

The given line graph represented the quadrillion units of energy consumed in the United States between 1980 and 2030.
Overall, at the first glace, it is clear that since 1980, fuel like petrol and oil has accounted for the majority of American energy use and will likely continue to do so in the future. Otherwise, nuclear, hydroelectric, and solar/wind energy are always used sparingly.
Petrol and oil consistently placed first and far ahead of other fuels from 1980 to 2005. It started at 35 and grown substantially until it reached 40 in 2005. Natural gas and coal come in second position, both of which usually had a start between 15 and 20. After a few years, it was halted at 20 or more. The previous position was around 5, and even though there was a small fluctuation, it ended there in 2005.
From 2005 to 2030, the price of gasoline and oil kept on increasing sharply and was set at around 50. Natural gas and coal both had little variations. However, since 2015, natural gas has stopped at about 25 and has been there until the very end, while coal continues to rise till about 30. solar/wind and delta in nuclear are always very low, making no progress, and are always between 3 and 8. Whereas, hydropower had the lowest number of quadrillion units.
