The graph below gives information from a 2008 report about consumption of energy in the USA since 1980 with projections until 2030.Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparison where relevant.

The provided line graph illustrates data regarding energy consumption in the United States of America between 1980 and 2030.

Overall, the chart indicates that the use of fossil fuels are more than the other energy sources.

As it is observed, at the beginning of the period to 1995 consumption of petrol and oil were fluctuating at about 32 quadrillion units. Since then till present, it is rose significantly from approximately 35 units to 40 units. For the following 18 years it is expected to climb substantially by all but 10 quadrillion. On the other hand, natural gas and coal started from a downward and upward trends respectively, yet, they met at a single point and continued a upward trend at a same rate simultaneously around 18 quadrillion until 1990. There was a considerable increase in coal and natural gas consumption from 18 units to 22 units between 1990 and 2012. It is expected that natural gas will remain stable at about 25 quadrillion. Whereas, coal will climb till the end of the period.

In stark contrast, from the inception of the period to 1990 nuclear, solar/wind and hydropower were remained stable at around 3 quadrillion. There were moderate fluctuations in between them except nuclear power which was rose from 1990 untill present. Predictions indicate that the rate would remain almost stable from 2012 to the rest of the period for nuclear,solar/wind and hydropower at around 4 quadrillions.
