The given line graph illustrates how much US government spent on research from 1980 to 2008.
Overall, it is obvious that US government spent the largest amount of money on Health research, while the least amount of money was spent on General Science research.
In 1980, the proportion of money that the US government spent on Health research was a bout 8 millions and dramatically rose up to over 20 billions and slightly decreased to 18 billions after that. Also, there was a moderate growth in the spending in space from 1980 to 2008. Furthermore, the year 1980 witnessed a fluctation in the money that US government spent on Energy. And General Science slightly increased from 2.5 billions in 1980 to 5 billions in 2000 and remained unchanged.
However, there was a decrease in the money that was spent on other research, fluctuated from 1980 and reached its lowest point at 5 billion in 2008.
