The graph below shows the acid level in mouth from consumption of sugar and honey. Eating sweet food produces acid in the mouth, which can cause tooth decay.

The given line graph illustrates the amount of acid produced in mouth by consuming sweet foods ( honey, sugarcane and fruitsugar) and within what time they are most likely to cause tooth decay. The graph is plotted against time and pH-levels. Higher the pH-level lower the acid produced in the mouth which means less chances of tooth decay.

Overall, it is clear from the multi-linear graph that cane sugar's effect remains in the mouth for long time and it is more harmful for our teeth as compared to other two.

Analyzing the graph it becomes lucid that 5.5 is the pH-level above which the chances of tooth decay occurrence are the least and vice-versa. Within 5 minutes of consumption of these foods, the pH-level drops rapidly and reaches to 3.5 due to cane sugar, just above 4 because of fruit sugar and almost 5 as a result of consuming honey.

This means that honey is the one that produces the least amount of acid in the mouth. Also, honey is the one that takes around 12 to 13 minutes to neutralize (fastest of the three). Comparatively, cane sugar requires 30-35 minutes while fruit sugar needs around 20 minutes to nullify its effect in mouth.
