Overall, more people use car than bus and train in the period. The figure for car and train users increased considerably and will continue to rise, while there was a gradual decline in the number of bus commuters.

In 1970, the number of people who commute by car, bus and train were roughly 5 millions, 4 millions and 2 millions, respectively. From 1970, there was a significant rise in the figure for car users, at about 7 millions in 2012. The number of people who commute by train also increased rapidly, whereas there was a steady reduction in the number of bus users, at around 3.2 millions in 2012. The figure will be nearly 5 millions in 2030.

In the period between 2012 and 2030, the number of car commuters will continue to rise dramatically, reach a peak of 9 millions in 2030. The year 2030 will witness a sharp growth to nearly 5 millions in the figure for people who use train , whereas there will be a steady reduction in the number of people using bus, at below 3 millions in 2030.
