The line graph below displays the consumption of 3 specific kind of food in China, namely meat, salt and fish from the year 1985 to 2010.
Overall, the number of food consumption fluctuated. After the period, the number of meat and fish consumption rose, while the figure for salt consumption dropped.
To be more specific, from 1985 to 1995, the consumption numbers of fish declined slowly into 610 grams for each person every week. At the end of the period, this figure grew steadily and reached the highest point at about 850. We can see that fish was consistently ranked first, which means it was the most consumed food in China.
Beside, the amount of salt was consumed in a week by Chinese fell dramatically from 490 into 200 grams and always placed second over the 25 years period. On the other hand, there was a significant increase in meat consumption numbers. In 1985, it just hit a low of 100 grams, then grew up into 200 grams in 2010, the same number as salt. It is clearly that meat was the least consumed food in China.
