The graph provides information about the proportion of four groups that went to the cinema in the United Kingdom from 1984 to 2000.
Overall, it is obvious that an uptrend of cinema attendance was remarked in all groups. While the number of young people aged 15-24 watching films outside was highest, the 35-and-over-years-old people saw the lowest number over a period of 16 years.
In the first year of beginning, the percentage of British youth was about 18%, three times of the percentage of people between 25-35 years old. In contrast, just 1% of oldest group considered cinema as a leisure destine.
Acordding to the statistics, in the next decade, a fluctuated increase ocurred in the 15-24 aged group with a rate of 50% in 1994. Similarly, others saw a slight rise. Five years after, the proportion of youth reached a peak at about 58%, which was five times more than the percentage of group aged 35 and over.
In the final year of period, there was a downtrend in the number of people under 24 years old, whereas an uptrend of people over 25 years old.
