The chart illustrates the proportion of female unemployment in 4 countries of the United Kingdom from 2013 to 2014.
Overall, there was a moderate decrease in the share of female unemployment in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, while a slight rise was seen in the figures for Scotland. It is also clear that England has the highest female unemployment rate in 2013, but it was surpassed by Scotland a year later.
The percentage of women unemployed in England started at 6,8% in 2013, after which it saw a slow decline to 6,5% in 2014. Silmilar changes, but to lesser extents, can be seen in the figures for Northern Ireland, which dropped from 5,6% in 2013 to 4,6% in 2014.
5,4% women were unemployed in Wales in 2013, followed by a drop to 5,0% a year later. By contrast, the figures for Scotland rose marginally from 6,2% to 6,7% over a year period.
