The line charted presented below show a number of leisure activities elderly people of United State take interest in between 1980 and 2010.

From basic observation, we can see that two most popular one recently are watching television and hiking, along with reading right behind. Theatre, on the other hand, lost its popularity in exchange for the sudden rise of internet surfing and reading books.

Watching television program seem to has remained constantly popular for quite a long time, going up from 60% to 70% from 1980s to 2000s and backing down to 60% in 2010s. Hiking exploded in popularity, rising sharply from a merely 20% to the top 80% in the span of around 30 years. Old people during 1990s to 2000s seemed to prefer outdoor activities such as hiking than reading. Both surfing internet and reading experienced rise in 2000s up to recent years, with internet rising sharply from below 20% to 50% and readings from 20% to 60%.
