The graph below shows the information about languages 13 year old students in one school choose to study

The line graph illustrates the number of language options which was selected by students at the age 13 in a school in England from 2000 to present.
Overall, it is clear that, there was an upward trend in the number of students choosing Mandarin, the opposite was true for that of French.
As can be seen from the graph, in in 2000, the number of French options chosen by English students stood at about 150 students, which hit the highest point. Meanwhile the figure for Mandarin was under 10 pupils. Over the next 5 years, figures for students choosing French was dropped significantly to 90 students. In contrast, the number of Mandarin options had a considerable growth to nearly 80 students.
Looking at the graph for more details, after rising to 100 students, now the figure for French options declines gradually to 90 students. Meanwhile, the number of students choosing Mandarin classes increases steadly to 70 students.
