The graph below shows the number of books read by men and women at Burnaby Public Library from 2011 to 2014.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant. Write at least 150 words.

The given lines illustrate the figure for books read by males and females at Burnaby Public Library in a period of 3 years. It is obvious that men rapidly tended to read far more books than women did in the same period despite the lower beginning.

As can be seen from the graph, in 2011, the number of books read by women was 5000, which is much higher in 2000 than books read by men. After that, there was a gradual increasing trend in the next two year and these figures reached a peak of 9000 in 2013. However, the number witnessed a dramatical fall to 7000 in 2014 - the final year.

In addition, the books read by females at the Burnaby Public Library quickly went up from 4000 to 1000 between 2012 to 2014. It finished at about 14000, which was approximately double with the number of books read by women.
