It is clear from the graph that, all of 4 figures experienced the increase over the period shown. Furthermore, the figure of CD player was by far highest during the research period.
In 1996/97, there were just 3 types of equipments used popularly in the UK, such as CD player, mobile phone, home computer. CD player was used the most, the figure of it took up 60 percent of people in England. The second most popular was home computer, in vicinity of 30 percent of people used it in their home. And the last one, just under 20 percent of them chose mobile phone.
In 1998/99, internet access appeared in the UK. It was used so few in households in the UK, about 10 percent of residents used it in their home. However, there was a steady increase in the amount of internet access from 1998 to 2003, but, in 2003, the figure of it was still lowest, at a bit more than 40% . The highest was still CD player, at around 80%. Lower are mobile phone and home computer, at 70% and 55% respectively
