The chart illustrates how domestic access to modern technology changed in housholdings in UK.
Overall, it is apparent all the patterns were upwards, with the most big rise of owning of mobile phones and Internet. It is noticable that CD players had the highest shares both early on and at the final point of the given period.
Going into details, owning of home computers and mobile phones in 1996-1997 showed approximately 30 percent and a little less then 20 percent respectively. Then both parts rose, with more fluctuational rising for mobile phones. During 1999-2000 the percentages were almost the same for both devices, with further increase of owning mobile phones share. At the final point, proportion of using home computers lagged behind the using of mobile phones, with over 58 percent for the former and 70 percent for the latter.
With regard to Internet access, since global network appeared later, the countdown started only in 1998. This technology started out 10 percent at the beginning and finished with near 43 percent in 2003.
