Apparently, it is a similar downtrend is witnessed between the old age 15-64 and age 0-14. While, people who are over 65 years of age has a growth both in the past and the future.
In 1996, the porpotion of 15-64 group age stood at nearly 55%, followed by a fluctuation in the 90s after it is forecast to decline slightly in 2030 and 2040. This trend is also recorded with the group of Age 0-14 which started at 30% and sharply decrease until the 20s. In addition, this group is projected to fall gradually in the future.
By contrast, people who are over 65 have a upward trend in percentage when it levelled of at 15% in the period of 30 years from 1960 to 1980, before witnessing a swift rise to approximately 55% in the prediction.
