The line graph illustrates the rate of four various recycled materials in a country over the period of 28 years starting from 1982.
Overall, it is clear that all four materials experienced an upward trend over the period.
In 1982, the proportion of paper and cardboard being recycled was at approximately 65% while the figure for glass containers was at 50%. At that time,allumininium cans and plastics were not comon as recycled materials and remained at 0% for the next 4 to 8 years. Between the year 1990 and 1994, there was a rise in the percentage of paper and cardboard, from 65% to 80%. Meanwhile , the figure for glass containers remained the same after dropping to 40%in 1986.
Alluminium cans' rate saw a dramatic rise during the period, from 5% in 1986 to 45% in 2010 while the rate of plastics witnessed more stable rise, from 5% in 1990 to nearly 10% in 2010.
