The line graph represents a differentiation of the population of people whose age over 65 from 1940 to 2040 in three different countries.
Overall, what stands out from the graph is that at the beginning, the USA had the most age over 65 people, while at the end less than all other countries. The opposite trend was observed in the case of Japan.
According to the graph, in 1940, the US had the highest amount of people (8%) who has aged more than 65, while Japan had the least percent 5%, and Sweden just 1% above Japan. Over the next two decades the amount rose moderately, both in the USA and Sweden it increased 2%, however, in Japan, the portion decreased to 3% and until 1990, it remained the same. Moreover, from 1960 till to 1983 for both USA and Sweden the percent climbed up parallel and stood at 15 and 13 percent respectively.
In Japan, from 1990 to 2030, the percentage slowly grew from 3 to 10%, after that, within 10 years the value rapidly raised to approximately 27%. Turning to the USA it decreased continuously to 13% before the last 20 years then climbed up to 23%. In the case of Sweden, the percentage decreases and increases over time and ends at 25%.
