The line chart illustrates the information about radio and TV audiences in 24 hours in 1992 from October to December.
It can be outlined that the statistic of both groups fluctuated during the day. To be more specific, the TV audiences slightly increased from 3% at 6 am to 7% at 8 am before moderately falling back to 6% at midday. After that, this figure soared to its highest point at 48% at 8 pm with a gentle drop between 2 pm and 4 pm. From that point onwards, the rate of TV audiences dramatically shrunk to its minimum around 1% at 4 am before re-climbing to 3% at 6 am the next morning.
On the other hand, the data of audiences listening to the radio experienced another trend when compared with that of TV audiences. It firstly jumped to almost 30% before nine o’clock in the morning. Thereafter, this rate continually decreased in the following hours to 1% at 4 am with a slight increase between 4 pm (12%) and 5 pm (15%).
To sum up, there are more English audiences choosing the radio before 2 pm, and this trend reversed after that.
