The graph below shows radio and television audiences throughout the day in 1992.
The line chart illustrates comparison regarding percentage of people using either of the two types of media, radio or television, throughout the day in the year 1992.
Overall, it is clear from the graph that radio medium is enjoyed by most of the people in United Kingdom between 4 am to 2 pm (half part of the day) in 24 hours span ;however, television as preferred for rest half of day.
In 24 hours span between nearly 6 am early morning to 1 pm in noon, people mostly listened to radio at the start of the day accounting to nearly 5 percentage of total audiences at 6 am; while, no one watched the tv programmes at this time of the day. From that point of time, percent of radio listeners increased dramatically before occupying nearly 30% of total media consumers at eight in the morning. After the proliferation, change in trend was seen as percent of listeners declined gradually while percent of television viewers surged which resulted in equal proportion of radio and television users at about 15% at one hour pass the noon. From that time of the day, television viewers rised exponentially from 2 pm (15%) to 8 pm (nearly half of survey participants) before reaching peak, then its percent nosedived from 8pm to 2am. On other hand, radio listeners kept on decreasing after reaching peak to its lowest nearly 1% at 2am which is same proportion as tv consumers.
