The graph below shows waste recycling rates in the U.S. from 1960 to 2011.

The Double line graph demonstrates the amount of recycling rate of waste recovery by million tons in U.S.A during fifty-five years age from 1960 to 2011.
According to the graph the highest collection from total waste was 86.9 million tons with 50% recycling on 2011, and the lowest waste recovery on 1960 it was 5.6 million tons with 6.4% recycled. There is slight increasing in recycling process and rubbish recovery in ten years ago (from 1975 to 1980).
To sum up, the recycling process and waste amount recovery have a significant increasing in last twenty years ago from 1990 to 2011 and the suggested reason was the technology development in USA.
