The graphs below show some trends in visits to the UK by overseas residents and visits overseas by UK residents between 1982 and 2002 Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant

The line charts compare visits to and from the UK in term of the quantity of visits and the average duration of stays throughout the visits from 1982 to 2002.
A glance at the line chart reveals that there was a moderate climb in the volume of visits depart from and arrive to the UK. On the other hand, the average length of stay during the visits fell down over the 20-year period.

The first line chart indicates that there was a consistent rise in the quantity of visits to and from the UK. It is clear that there was always substantial more UK residents who visited abroad than visitors welcomed by the UK.

On the contrary, the second line chart gives information about a progressive decrease in the number of nights visitors spent during their visits. It can be clearly seen that UK visitors spent more nights outside than foreign visitors.
