The pie charts illustrate the percentages of water used for industrial , agricultural and domestic purposes around six different regions of the world.

In overall, the usages of water for agricultural purposes are higher than other usages in most of the areas except North America and Europe. Water for agricultural uses is over 80% in Africa, Central Asia and South East Asia but below 40% in North America and Europe. On the contrary, North America and Europe are the greater user of water for industrial functions. However, this scene in quite opposite in South America, Africa, Central Asia, South East Asia where water used in industrial sectors are about 5 -12%. Europe is the topmost user of water for industrial works which is about 53% and in central Asia, this amount is about 5% which is lesser among all the regions.

Water for domestic uses has similar profile in Central Asia and South East Asia and this percentage is 7%. Furthermore, in South America this is about 19% which is the highest user of water for domestic purpose. Besides, North AMerica and Europe accounts for about respectively 13% and 15%.

In conclusion, higher uses of water for industrial purpose indicate the industrially developed counties where greater uses for agricultural purpose indicates non- industrially developed counties.
