The line graphs compare the number of Overseas Students and Local students in Australian universities between 2001 to 2010

Overall, It is clear that the local students are as many as the overseas students. However, foreign student enrollment is gradually increasing, which leads to a rise in the total number of overseas pupils.

In the year 2001, the commencing of foreign people applying for Australian universities is around over 10 thousand in 2001 and the total figure is just approximately 20 thousand. By contract, the commencing of local applying is 180 thousand freshmen and 40 thousand in a total of both new and old students.

Over the following 9 years, The data showed significant changes in the number of foreign's students who are 40 thousand 4 times as high as in 2001, which makes the total overseas student also increased the same. In addition, although the number of commencing local students slightly fluctuated during the period 9 years, the total number still increased dramatically with 600 thousand in 2010
