IELTS Task 1 - Tables give information about sales of fairtrade-labelled coffee and bananas in 1999 and 2004 in five European countries

The given tables give data about sale of fair trade labelled coffee and banana in five European countries in 1999 and 2004. The whole sale is in millions of euros.

Talking about the sale of coffee, UK had highest sale of 20 million euros in 2004 which amounted to 1.5 million euros in 1999. Switzerland, Denmark, Belgium and Sweden had a sale of 3, 1.8, 1 and 0.8 million euros in 1999 which in 2004 had an increase to 6, 2, 1.7 and 1 million euros respectively.

Moving on to the sale of bananas, UK again had the highest sale of bananas from 15 million euros in 1999 to 47 million euros in 2004. Further Switzerland and Denmark had a sale of 1 and 0.6 million euros in 1999 which climbed up for both the countries to 4 and 1 million euros respectively in 2004.

Belgium and Sweden had a decrease in sale of bananas from 1.8 and 2 million euros in 1999 to 1 and 0.9 million euros in 2004.

Thus on an average it could be concluded that sales for both coffee and bananas had an increase in 2004 as compared to the sale in 1999 which could probably be due to increasing population or some other factors.
