The charts below show the average percentages in typical meals of three types of nutrients, all of which may be unhealthy if eaten too much.

The given pie charts illustrate the american consumption of sodium, saturated fat and added sugar in terms of percentage in the average meal. Overall, dinner contains the highest proportion of sodium and fat while added sugar is consumed most for snacks.

Initially, the amount of sodium and saturated fat for dinner takes up 43% and 37% respectively. sugar quantity for this sector is only 23%. The opposite trend can be seen when we look at nutrition proportion for snacks. The sector accounts for 42% added sugar, whereas the percentages for sodium and saturated fat are lower, at 14% and 21% one by one.

Turning to the remaining sectors we can see that for breakfast the amount of fat is the same as that of sugar at 16% and higher than sodium (14%) Moreover, the american tend to consume less the three nutrients at lunch. The figures are 29%, 26% and 19% in respective order.
