A glance at the line graph provided reveals data about the proportion of female members of parliament in European countries between 2000 and 2012.
Overall, what stands out from the graph is that the percentage of females who were in parliament witnessed an ascending trend in all the countries. In addition, the ratio of female members of parliament in Italy was highest compared to other countries in 2012.
As can be seen in the graph, in comparison with the proportion of women members who took part in parliament in Germany which experienced a slight increase in the last 12 years, there was a significant rise in the percentage of female members in Italy who were in parliament, from just approximately 25% in 2000 to nearly 40% in 2012. Additionally, despite having a period of erratic behaviors in 8 years from 2000, the figure for France also increased to about 30% in the same time.
In terms of the percentage of women who joined in parliament in Belgium, it is evident that after having a dramatic climb to reach a peak at about 28% in 2004, the quantity in Belgium continued to increase gradually in the next 8 years. Lastly, starting at below 5% in 2000, the period of the next 12 years saw a significant increase of about 25% in the end of the period.
