As can be seen from the line graph that the amount of food people consume in Great Britain went up by varying degrees from 1975 to 2000.

Since there was a slight fluctuation in fresh fruit consumption between 1975 and 1985, the figures has experienced a stable rise. With 8000 grams of fresh fruit consumption in 2000 increasing twofold, in comparison with 400 grams of sugar consumption in 1975. The amount of sugar people consume decreased dramatically by one-fourth, from 400 down 100 grams over the whole period shown. There was a same level in both sugar and ice cream consumption, with 100 grams in 2000. In contrast, the proportion of ice cream people eat had a smaller rise, as opposed to other consumptions
