The line chart illustrates how many men and women in Maryville registered to use mobile phones from 1995 to 2015. Overall, the number of users of each gender rose at nearly similar rates during the ten-year period but there is a difference from the year 2005 to 2015.
To commence with, during the first stage from 1995 to 2005, for both genders, the number of subscribers increased significantly. In 1995, there were only around 500 people owning mobile phones by each gender. Then the number continuously rose until it reached the number of 2500 users by each gender in the year 2005.
Following that, in the period from 2005 to 2010, there was no change in the number of male users whilst there was a slight drop in female subscribers amount to about 2250 users. However, from the year 2010 to 2015, while the number of men using mobile phones increased slightly to 2750, the number of female users still stayed steady.
Generally, while the numbers of both male and female subscribers rose considerably, they rose more for men.
