The map below is of the town of Garlsdon. A new supermarket (S) is planned for the
town. The map shows two possible sites for the supermarket.
The map compares two potential locations for the building of a new supermarket in a town called Garlsdon.
The main discrepancy between the two sites is that S1 is located in Garilsdon's suburb, whereas S2 is in the town center. The sites can also be compared in terms of access by road and rail, and their positions relative to three smaller towns.
Looking at the information in more detail, S1 is the vicinity of the town center to the northwest of Garlsdon, but it close to the residential area of the town. S2 is located nearby housing area, which surrounds the town center.
There are main roads which connect from three other towns called Hindon, Bransdon, and Cransdon to Garlsdon town center where has no traffic zone. This means that there would not access to S2 by means of transport. By contrast, S2 lies on the main road to Hindo, but it would be elusive to reach from Bransdon and Cransdon. Furthermore, both supermarket site are close to the railway that runs through Gralson from Hindon to Cransdon
