The maps present the current view of the city center of Islip and the proposed developments for the future.
Overall, the infrastructure of the town, especially the road system will markedly be improved. In addition, the residential area will have been expanded.
In terms of transport, currently, the main road runs across the town from east to west and 2 narrow roads facilitate the transport to the school and the park from the main road. In the future development, these two small roads will be converted and extended to a dual carriageway, which will be running around the city center, while the central portion of the previous main road will be restricted to the use of pedestrians.
In terms of the city center, shops that are located to the south of the main road will not be removed; however, few shops to the north of the main road will be converted to a large shopping center. Furthermore, there will be a bus station to the left of the shopping center, while a car park and new residencies will be on the right side. In addition, new houses will be added to the south of the city center. However, the locations of the school and the park will remain unchanged although the size of the park will be reduced slightly.
