The two diagrams show changes to the centre of Islip town; how it looks like now and how it would be in the future. The most obvious change is that the size of centre and it's built-up portion will be increased while the share of greenery including park and countryside will be reduced.
The main road is surrounded by shops will be replaced by a walkway. Giving access park to the school as well as eastern and western parts of the centre, a dual carriageway will be built as a ring round around the centre. However, the dual carriageway will occupy more than half of current area of the park as well as countryside on the northern side. A small area of the school also will be trimmed by the new way.
In addition, other developments will be made. The shops on the northern side of the main road will be replaced by a shopping centre with a car park immediately to the right and a bus station to the left. Further developments include new housing next to the park, and another one will be housed in the place of current shops at the eastern side. Current housings will be shifted accordingly toward the left and the right to shape a zigzag figure.
