The given maps below illustrate the developments which took place during a period of 25 years in Youngsville village in New Zealand.
Overall, this maps reveals that the rural zone experienced hugely the changes as it turned into a complex urban area. In 1980, the city was much more greener than 2005 and some facilities were built.
On the north side of the river Alanah, just a vast number of trees was cut down and replaced by a park as just a few trees remained. Moreover, in the east the residential area was demolished and a railway constructed. Also, to the west of railway a stadium was erected and a park along with a parking was appeared.
On the south side of the river the developments were more remarkable as all houses and trees disappeared to make a way for building the skyscrapers. The woodland area was fully knocked down and two factories established next to the airport. In addition, a warehouse and an industrial zone were erected to the northwest of the airport. Finally, alongside the railroad a Marina center was constructed next to the station in 2005.
