OIL
The bar chart illustrates the daily production of oil in six Middle East countries from 1990 to 2010.
Overall, Saudi Arabia was the biggest oil producer throughout the given period, as opposed to Qatar which was the smallest one. It is also clear that the amount of oil from Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, UAE, and Saudi Arabia produced on a daily basis experienced a clear upward trend between 1990 and 2010 whereas the figure for Qatar changed slightly with an unpredictable pattern.
Over the 20 years, the largest oil producer was Saudi Arabia. It can be seen from the chart that the amount of oil this country produced every day had approximately doubled by 2010 from about 8 to 16 million barrels. Iran became ranked second with around 3 million barrels in 1990, and then its figure rose consistently from 3 to 4 million barrels between 1990 and in 2010.
The daily production of oil in Qatar was the smallest during the given period. The daily production capacity of this country grew negligibly to a million barrels before constantly dropping to about a half of a million barrels and remaining at this level until 2010. By comparison, the UEA entered period stability and produced the same amount of oil daily, at about 2 million barrels, from 1990 to 2000 and then its figure rose slightly by 0.5 million barrels during the last five years.
