The given line chart illustrates the consumption of people living in 6 different countries on renewable energy during the period of 40 years.
Overall, Finland ranked the highest among 6 nations mentioned, whereas, the inhabitants of the United Kingdom consumed the lowest amount of renewable energy.
As we can see from the picture, in the year 1971, the American usage accounted for only 2.5% of energy, this figure for Germany was doubled (5%), and France was slightly higher, with 7%. It is noticeable that these countries had a tendency to consume more renewable energy, even though their figure considerably fluctuated during the period shown. In particular, the consumption of people in the US reached a peak at 18% in 2011, in the same year, the amount used in Germany and France was 13% and 14% respectively.
Turning to the remaining nations, in 1971, there was 25% of renewable energy used in Finland, followed by Denmark with 15%, compared to the UK with only 1% of energy consumed. The next few years saw different trends among these countries. While the amount of power used in Finland slightly decreased by 24% in 2017, the figure for Denmark and the UK rose up to 17% and 7% respectively.
