The pie chart below show how the city of Hertofordshire funded its public libraries over two financial terms.
Given pie chart represents how city of Hertfordshire supported its libraries during 2014-15 and 2016-17.
Libraries was getting funding from four main sources. The main income came from council tax, that is more that 50 percent of total income. Libraries financing did not experienced drastic changes during these 2014/15 and 2016/17 periods. Similarly, total income for supporting libraries almost remained the same.
Major differences between two periods funding is that council tax increased their support by 11 percent from 57 percent in the first period and to 68 percent in the second period. Also, there was slight increase in second period from other government grants, it went from 17 percent to 19 percent. A big decrease was revenue support grant which lower their funding by 12 percent, from 18 % in the first period to 6 % in the second period. Business rates and other incomes remained pretty much the same during both periods. In the end, total income libraries received - decreased by 3,1 million.
