The pie charts illustrate the composetion of electricity of Germany and France and the component of renewable energy in the two countries in the year of 2009.
Overall, the majority of electricity in Germany was generated from conventional thermal and the biomass and wind engendered renewable energy composed most of the whole renewable energy in the year of 2009. Meanwhile, nuclear produced a large sector of France electricity and hydroelectric constituted the majority of renewable energy.
In Germany, the largest section of electricity was generated by conventional thermal, which wea 59.8%. Nuclear and renweable ranked the second and third with the percentage of 23% and 17.4% respectively. Concerning to specific component of renewable energy, biomass and wind engendered 39% ana 36%, respectively, of the total renewable energy. Besides, hydroelectric comprised 17.7% of the entire renewable electricity.
In France, nuclear composed 76% of the whole energy. Conventional thermal and renewables comprised 10% and 13% respectively. Regarding the the detailed constitution of renewable energy, the majority of it was comprised by hydroelectric, which was 80%. Biomass and wind merely generated 8% and 10% respectively.
