The pie charts and the table show the types of living accommodation occupied by 25-year-olds in London during yhr 1990s and 2010s and the availability of different types of accommodation in London during the same two periods.
The given pie charts illustrate 2 surveys regarding the living accommodation of 25-year-olds in London during the years 1990 and 2010 as for the living status (alone or shared in a house, flat, or with parents). The provided table illustrates the available housing from 1990 to 2010 onwards, these are measured as 1-2 and 3-4-bedroom houses or flats. Overall, it can be clearly seen that for 25-year-olds in London, the 1990's and 2010's showed that more of them preferred to live in flat-sharing and house-sharing. In terms of the available housing, both the 1990's and 2010's presented that more people lived in 3-4-bedroom houses.
First of all, there was a big difference between living with family and staying in shared house and flat during the 2010s, to be more specify, the former proportion accounted for much less percentage than the latter. Although, a considerable deep in available housing was shown at 1-2-bedroom houses and 1-2 bedrooms flat, the percentage of young adults living with their parents have decreased dramatically. On the other hand, while house-sharing and flat-sharing became popular in the 2010s, both single flat and house went down gradually in popularity.
According to the table, it is worth of note that a big change occurred in the number of 1-2-bedroom house and flat in 2010 onwards, with the figure being significantly lower than the 1990s’ by 22.000 houses/ flats. Conversely, the number of 3-4-bedroom house and flat have increased slightly to 48,500 and 32,000 respectively.
