The pie charts below show the average household expenditures in Japan and Malaysia in the year 2010.
The pie chart indicates the average household spending in Japan and Malaysia with respect to five important categories in 2010.
Overall, it is noticeable that householders in both countries expended the largest proportion of their income for just three categories-housing, food and other goods and services.
In 2010, the expenditure for other goods and services held the lion’s share in Japanese households, which was merely higher than that in Malaysian ones, a difference of 3%. In terms of food, the figures for both countries shared a striking similarity, at 24% and 27% for Japan and Malaysia respectively, making it hold the runner-up, in comparison with the others. While Malaysian spenders allocated the largest proportion for housing, which accounted for 34% in the total shares, a reverse pattern was seen to Japanese consumers, with just 21%.
In the year of 2010, the percentage of pouring money on transport in Japan was twice as much as its counterpart-in Malaysian. Spending on health was the smallest category. In Japan, it made up only 6% of the total, which was 3% higher than that in Malaysia.
