The pie charts below show units of electricity production by fuel source in Australia and France in 1980 and 2000. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The pie charts depict the generation of electricity units by fie diferent types of fuel sources in Australia and France in 1980 and
2000.

Firstly, in Australia, the production of one half units of electricity was done by coal in 1980 (50 units). Followed by hydro power and natural gas with 20 units and oil which was used to produce half electricity of them, that was 10 units. However, electricity productin increased by 25% by use of coal in 2000 (130 units). Hydro power used to make 36 units that year and fuel like oil and natural gas reduced their productin to 2 units.

Moreover, France was using nuclear power to produce electricity along with these fuels. In 1980, natural gas and coal produced in same quantity (25 units) while, oil and nuclear power was under it by decrement of 5 units in each. Hydro power was used for generatin of 5 units. But, in 2000, nuclear power gave nearly 75% of electricity (126 units). Coal remained at same position while, oil was replaced by natural gas with 25 units. Hydro power and natural gas both fall at 2 units.

Overall, production of electricity has rose in one decade, it was 1.7% in Australia and in France it has doubled.
