The four pie charts illustrate the amount of electricity produced by different sources of fuel in Australia and France between 1980 and 2000.
Overall, coal was the major fuel source used in production of electricity in Australia both in 1980 and 2000, whilst, in France coal and natural gas were the greatest producer as they contributed equally in 1980, as nuclear power was the major in 2000.
The total number of electricity units produced in Australia in 1980 were 1000units, then 170units in 2000. It is clearly seen on the pie chart that coal contributed half of the electricity produced in 1980. Hydropower and natural gas produced an equal amount of electricity, at 20units produced in Australia, whilst, oil was the least with production of 10units. In the year 2000 in Australia, coal fuel contributed enormously a total number of 130units. The average producer of electricity was by hydro power which contributed 36units, as natural gas and oil produced insignificant equal amount of 2 units each.
It is clearly seen that in France the total number of electricity produced in 1980 was 90units and 180units in 2000. Coal and gas produced similar amount of electricity, at 25units each. The average contributers were oil and nuclear power as they produce 20units and 15units of electricity respectively. Production of electricity by hydro power gave an output of 5units which was the least. In the year 2000, nuclear power had the greatest contribution of 126units of electricity, whilst coal and oil produced equal amount of electricity, at 25units each. Hydro power and natural gas produced a similar amount of electrical energy, at 2units each.
To sumup, in Australia the major contributer in electricity production was coal. Only four types of fuel sources contributed in Australia, namely coal, oil, natural gas and hydro power. In France nuclear power was the fifth contributer in electricity production, as it was also the major producer of electricity.
