The pie charts give details about the different types of energy production in France starting from the year 1955 and 2005
Overall, in both the charts, the most significant sources of energy production were gas and coal, which accounted for over more than half of the energy production. Whereas, least amount of energy was produced by nuclear and other sources. In all the types of energy production there was minimal change over the 10 years.
Energy produced by coal comprised of 30% in the first year and this showed only a very slight increase of 31% in 2005. Likewise, in 1955, gas generated 29% which rose to 30% 10 years later.
With regards to the remaining methods of producing energy, there was minimal increase in their production from both nuclear and other source to 15% and 18% respectively. Petrol, on the other hand, was the only source of energy which decreased in production from 20% in 1955 to 8% in 2005
