Given are three pie charts revealing the expenditure of a school in the UK for various sectors during the period from 1981 to 2001.

It is evident that teacher’s salaries made up by far the largest proportion of school’s spending in all two decades. By contrast, insurance remained the smallest cost in each year.

In 1981, 40% of school’s budget went on teacher’s salaries. This then rose to 50% in 1991 before a mere of 5% decline, to 45% in 2001. Other workers’ salaries also came second in 1981, accounting for 28%, however, this figure then halved to only 15% for subsequent two decades. In a stark contrast, although being the smallest share of school’s spending, insurance saw a exponential rise from a mere of 2% in 1981 to 8% in 2001.

It is interesting to note that Occupying the similar proportion of school’s budget, at 15% in 1981, nonetheless, after 10 years, resources climbed significantly to 20%, 15% higher than furniture and equipment. However,by 2001 the former experienced a dramatic fall of 11%, to 9%, by contrast, the latter soared to a staggering 23%, which was the second largest proportion listed.
