The plans below show the layout of a university’s sports centre now, and how it will look after redevelopment.
The two maps compare the structure of a university’s sport centre at the present and its planned changes after reconstruction.
Overall, the sport center is planned to be expanded significantly towards the east and west. More amenities are going to be provided, diversifying the recreational activities of users.
Now, after entering the sport centre through a main entrance in the south, there is a reception right opposite the entrance. In the heart of this centre, there is a 25m-long pool with a seating area in the east, a changing room in the west and a gym right behind it. A range of outdoor courts lie in both side of the main building.
The future plan mostly shows no change in the existing facilities, apart from the widening of the gym towards the east and the destruction of outdoor courts. On the right of the entrance, the plan after redevelopment shows the emergence of a cafe and a changing room. In the same direction, a sport hall will be added, together with two dance studios in the further east. On the opposite direction, a sports shop is going to be erected, with another nearby changing room. A striking feature in the second layout is the construction of a leisure poor which is much larger than the old indoor one.
