The plans below show the layout of a university’s sports centre now, and how it will look after redevelopment.
The maps outline the current layout of a sports complex of a particular university together with some further predictions of its outlook after the upcoming refurbishment.
Overall, a comparison between the two maps reveals a shift from a simple sports center into a densely organized complex.
At present, the building consists of the main center and two outdoor courts located to the east and the west of it. Inside the main building, there is a reception facing the main entrance and a swimming pool exactly in the middle of the map. There is also access to the seating and the changing room on both sides of the pool as well as a gym on the north verge of the center.
According to the second map, two outdoor courts are predicted to be merged with the central part to form the overall expansion of the sports center. The west court will be demolished to make way for the new leisure pool, while the other court will be replaced by two new dance studios and a sports hall next to the initial seating. Two new changing rooms are forecasted to be erected in the south corners, with each in turn adjacent to the café and the sports shop. To the north of the pool, the gym will be doubled in size, whereas other features are going to be unchanged.
