The flowchart demonstrates the steps in the procedure of extracting diamonds from a mine all the way to sellers.
This process starts when the diamonds are mined in their rough state, followed by the core step, when they are sorted into two different grades, low and high.
To begin with, the low grade diamonds are usually kept for industrial purposes, and that is after undergoing sveral steps. They first are cut and shaped, after that their level of hardness is checked. Just before being sent to sellers, diamonds are priced.
High grade diamonds, however, experience additional steps. This type of diamonds is set aside and used for cosmetics, they are first priced then analysed using computers to provide the perfect cut. After this, they are sent to be cut either manually or mechanically, before polishing them. Finally, a rating step follows which is the deciding step, as according to the rate diamonds are either dilevered directly to retailers or returned for more polishing.
