The table illustrates the expenditure in five European countries on food and drink, housing, clothing and entertainment as a proportion of household income.
Overall, people in France, Germany, the UK, Turkey and Spain spent the least on clothing and people in France, Germany and the UK have to spend most of their income on the housing. There is a significant demarcation in the proportions of the household incomes in all the countries when it comes to 'clothing' and 'food and drinks'.
Turkish people spent the highest amount of money for food and drinks which is around 25% and it stands out significantly from other countries. France spent the least amount of money on clothing (7%) which is the lowest proportion of household income in all most all the countries.
The UK spent nearly the same proportions of household income on clothing and entertainment while Spain spent double of household income which is spent on clothing for entertainment.
